The Prairie Meadows Riviera Stage at Riverview Park
With its opening in 1915 Riverview Park was a source of great memories for the people of Des Moines. In 2021, after many years of little use, the Parks Area Foundation has led the charge to re-dedicate the park as a cultural destination for Des Moines, and the midwest. Our purpose is to bring together the Des Moines community in one place to celebrate unity, diversity, and culture while experiencing events that stimulate growth and prosperity in our surrounding communities. We partner with businesses to deliver a brand awareness opportunity that exhibits their brand front and center on the only state of the art sound stage and amphitheater holding a free concert series every year for the Greater Des Moines metro since 2009. We call it Rendezvous on Riverview (ROR) and it’s dedicated to ensuring everyone that shows up to get down, gets what they came for!
The renovated park is now home to the a playground for children of all abilities, provided for by Variety - the Children's Charity and the magnificent Prairie Meadows Riviera Amphitheater which can hold crowds of 10,000 or more.
Through a partnership with the City of Des Moines, the Parks Area Foundation operates the stage, and invests revenue into the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhoods. To request more information about booking the stage, visit here.
